At the core of the architectural composition of the dental clinic in Volos, with a total area of 139 sq.m., lies the logic of the curved line — a form that flows, guides, and softens. The curve is not merely a geometric device, but a gesture of care: a continuous movement that accompanies the visitor from the reception area to the treatment rooms, transforming the experience of the clinic into a smooth, almost organic transition.
The central concept is based on the sense of flow, the flow of space, light, and experience. Walls and partitions do not function as rigid boundaries, but as curved surfaces that embrace and guide, creating a spatial narrative that removes the harshness and anxiety often associated with medical environments
The materials were selected with brightness and familiarity in mind. Light-colored tiles cover the surfaces, reflecting both natural and artificial light, while wood, soft and warm, introduces a human dimension grounding the space within the purity of white. These two material qualities constantly interact, composing an environment that conveys calmness and cleanliness without feeling cold.
Lighting was designed as an extension of the curve. Light follows the flow of the space, diffusing softly through concealed sources, avoiding harsh shadows and ensuring multiple layers of illumination. General lighting coexists with luminous passages and focused points, emphasizing the curved movements and highlighting the sense of continuity.
The spatial organization is based on the patient’s experience: from the entrance and waiting area to the treatment rooms and auxiliary spaces, the route is clear, uninterrupted, and free of sharp angles. The curved line functions as an invisible guide, making the transition intuitive and calm.
Dental Studio 96 is not simply a dental clinic; it is an architectural experience of care, where form, light, and material coexist harmoniously, creating a space of care even before the act of healing begins.
